Strong and Vibrant Communities
People care deeply about their family, friends and the neighbourhoods they live in; what they may call their community. Feeling connected to the people around you and the place where you spend your life is vital. Having strong and vibrant communities means supporting active citizenship and encouraging people to participate in improving where they live. Blackpool's LSP aims to support more community activity and development by using all partners expertise. Part of this is delivering services that are determined locally.

Negotiated Actions
(the priorities being dealt with for everyone's benefit)
Communication and Information
In order to engage more people and make sure that as many people as possible have a say in decisions that effect them, there needs to be improved communication and information. Information needs to be available that broadens the involvement of local people in decision-making. Communication should encourage people to get involved and stay involved.
This action will develop new and innovative ways of communicating. Including developing centralised information and methods of two-way communication through website portals.
Growing the Community and Voluntary Sector
In order for the voluntary and community sector to be active and influential in making Blackpool a strong and vibrant place, the sector's capacity has to be developed. If the capacity of the voluntary and community sector grows they will be able to deliver more local services.
This action will provide a range of capacity building opportunities for voluntary and community organisations. This could take many forms such as training, mentoring or skills share. This will enable more services to be delivered by the 'third' sector.
