 VIEWING DOCUMENTS

Authors and editors of pages in the channels that make up Blackpool4Me are recommended to avoid attaching whole documents - which could be spreadsheets, powerpoint presentations, publisher files etc. as well as word documents - to their channel pages. However, there may be occasions when they would like to offer you the chance to view the original file.

You will normally be able to recognise these attachments as they will appear in channel pages with wording such as "Click here to see the full report". If you have on your computer programs like the ones with which these documents were created then you should be able to open and view them. If you do not, and you are having trouble opening the documents, the following guidelines may help you.

PDF documents

To access a PDF file, you need a piece of software called Adobe Reader. If you do not have it you can download Adobe Reader free of charge.

If you use screen reading software or other assistive technology, the Access Adobe site offers support and tools to help you access PDF documents. For more information visit the Adobe website.

Microsoft documents

To view these documents you can download  the Microsoft Word Viewer, or download the Microsoft Excel Viewer, or download the Microsoft  Powerpoint viewer, free of charge.
