So, you are Creative?
Well, Blackpool is the place to be..........

Well, chew on this one.....................................
I'm sure we have all seen it - indeed I'm sure we have all known that moment when you feel that you face is about to implode because the sweet you just decided to suck on has a kick like a mule being fired from a large bore rifle..................
So, how would you turn that experience into a momorable advert?
WARL commissioned RealtimeUK to produce two TV commercials and point-of-sale imagery for Chewits, who were embarking on their biggest advertising campaign for years!
The main feature of the ads was two young boys. The older boy is chomping on an ‘Extreme Sour Chewit’, as he does this his face goes rubbery, his lips scrunch together and his face sucks in on itself until it almost disappears. The younger boy will be seen eating a ‘Fruity Chewit’ and ends up with an enormous cheesy smile.
The team at RealtimeUK in Blackpool, started by an ex Blackpool and the Fydle student, Tony Prosser initially created a hi-resolution, realistic head and shoulders for the first boy. Once completed this formed the starting point for the second boy, where various features and colourings were adjusted to make a differentiation between the two boys.
Once the heads were approved, the extreme facial expressions, or Morph Targets, could be produced. A hi-resolution version of ‘Chewie’ the Chewits dinosaur was also modelled along with two pack products.
The first animation step was to provide a preview animatic outlining the sequence of events, and timings, for the extreme facial changes in a rough form. This allowed client tweaks to be made and approval to be gained as soon as possible in the production process. This also ensured that the solution met the client’s expectations and maintained the most efficient use of the production time. It also guaranteed that the client benefited from our full creative capabilities and animation experience.

WARL were extremely pleased with the final animation and believed that we completely exceeded all expectations. The adverts have been featured on the TV channels Nickelodeon, Trouble, Jetix and ITV2 and can also be seen on the Chewits website www.chew2win.com
