Community Learning

Blackpool Adult & Community Learning offer courses for various community groups, covering a wide range of topics. The development of these courses is used to help promote skills including confidence building, well being and promoting the enjoyment that training and learning can bring. These courses help develop skills for independence and engagement in community activities with intended progression routes into work, other training or volunteering.

Career Development
Preparing people for work by encouraging identification of personal skills, the production of a CV and locating suitable jobs and / or training. This includes the use of development planning and the building of the skills required in the workplace.

Self-Confidence

Self-confidence courses are used to promote the learners' feelings about themselves. They learn assertiveness techniques and self talk is used to promote the positive thoughts that occur. The groups are kept small so that stategies are slowly put in place to improve the learners' confidence.

Dealing with Problems in Daily Life
A course designed to aid the learner recognise problems, tackle them and use methods to cope with incidents such as personal loss and change.

Healthy Living & Budgeting
Preparing a learner to understand why a healthy lifestyle is important and how activities will improve their own lifestyles. This also includes the managing of personal budgets.
