You can use the Insert Table tool not only to create a plain table in which to enter text, but also as a way of placing content to build a photo gallery or add a side bar to your page, for example.
Creating a plain table
Please read the Adding Tables page for full information about creating and inserting tables into your pages.
Creating a side bar
Step 1 - Create a side bar
Click on Insert Table in the toolbar.
Move your cursor over the grid to highlight the top left square.
Click to add it to your page.
Step 2 - Modify the side bar
Resize it by clicking on its border, then click and drag the squares.
Use Table Properties to choose its position using Alignment and colour using Background.
Step 3 - Enter text
Hitting return will move your cursor down the strip line by line
Step 4 - Finishing touches
Use Table Properties to create a space between text outside the bar and its border.
Use Cell Properties to create space between text inside the bar and its border.
Hide the border of the side bar using the Toggle Table Borders option in the toolbar.
Alter the appearance of the text in the bar using other options in the toolbar.
Creating a Photo Gallery
You can use the table tool to create a listing similar to the ones you can see from the Blackpool4Me home page by clicking on More What's On... or More News....

- Click in the first row and use the Image Manager to insert a small (100 pixels wide) photo into it
- Right click the photo and use Image Properties to set the Border as 5, Border Colour as white, and Image Alignment as left
- Click to Update the table
- Hit return to move the cursor alongside the photo, and type 4 or 5 lines of text next to it
- Repeat actions 7-10 for each row in your gallery
- When complete, remove the lines around your gallery by either using the Toggle Table Borders tool or by right-clicking the table and using Show/Hide Border
