The Edit Console

The Edit Console appears as you login if you have rights to create or manage content in Blackpool4Me. You can click and drag it to another part of the screen if you wish.

The options you see listed when you click on Switch to Edit Site depend on your role as an author, channel manager, or administrator.

The options currently available to a manager of a channel in Blackpool4Me are:

Switch to Live Site
Closes the list of options
Page Status
This will normally be Saved when you have created a new page, and Published when you Submit a page for publication. If, however, there is a moderator in place to check your pages before publication the status could be Waiting for Editor Approval or Not Approved
Production Manager
Lists any pages you have created and saved, but not submitted for publication. Your pages are stored so you can continue to work on them.
If you have saved many pages the list could continue on more than one page - this is shown at the bottom of the list.
Approval Assistant
Lists pages submitted to you for checking. You can approve or decline all or selected pages for publication.
Preview
Shows how a saved page will look in your channel when published
Create New Page From Template
This displays thumbnail sketches of the different pages you can create using the templates to guide you - a homepage, a news page, an events page, and three different layout options for a general content page.
Create Connected Page
For use only if you have rights in more than one channel
Edit Page
Takes your page back into the template with which it was created, so that you can make changes to it
Delete Page
Will remove your page from Blackpool4Me (except the homepage)
Copy Page
For use only if you have rights in more than one channel
Move Page
For use only if you have rights in more than one channel
Page Properties
Allows you to view and modify data about your page, such as when you want it to go live or be expired from your channel
Revision History
Lists changes made to your page over time
View Revisions by Date
Lets you see how your page looked on a chosen date
Sort Items in Channel
Changes the order of the pages displayed in the list of contents
Channel Features
Add or remove features to the channel
Channel Statistics
View site visits and page hits
Image Resizer
A useful tool for changing the size of the images before you add them to your pages.
