Layton Methodist Playgroup's Mission Statement is that we aim to provide a safe, happy, caring environment in which the children of our community may develop physically, emotionally, spiritually, socially and educationally.

The Playgroup is located on Westcliffe Drive, Layton, Blackpool. The group meets in the main hall attached to Salem Methodist Church. The facility opened in April 1996 and is operated by a committee.

Children can access the large hall, toilets and a secure enclosed outdoor area. A maximum of 24 children may attend the setting at any one time. The group operates from 08.30 to 16.00 from Monday to Friday during term time (only).

The committee employs seven members of staff, all of whom hold appropriate early years qualifications. The setting is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and receives support from the local authority.

The Playgroup’s last Ofsted inspection was 08.01.08. The overall grading for the inspection was GOOD (which means that the provision is rated as strong). The report can be looked at in detail www.ofsted.gov.uk

A parent toddler group meets on Thursday afternoons between 13.30 – 15.00 in the Church coffee lounge.
