         Is it Real or is it not?

Its very worrying when you receive an email suggesting that your bank account has been breached online, or that your building society is 'just checking' it has your details correct......... For one, if these institutions were so bad at managing internet services, they are unlikely to be in business long; another thought might be that this all sounds rather odd.  Guess what? It is, but unfortunately it is not uncommon in the world of the open internet.

Elsewhere in this channel you can readx about the issues posed by various internet browsers, but is there a way to, once and for all, determine the validity of an email?

"TechRepublic" provides a hint - and suggests that anyone can look at an emails 'trail' to determine its reality of fiction.  Unfortunately only you, the user can actually be the one who makes the final decision. Read it or dump it.

If you are a Windows user, make sure you have virus protection up-to -date.  If you are a Mac user.  Smile, but do not be complacent, because a sucker is a sucker in the internet world, no matter how good your choice of OS!
