Codeweavers has released a limited beta version of CrossOver Mac,
software that enables Windows applications and games to run on Intel
Macs.
Unlike dual-boot and virtualisation environments that require the
purchase and installation of a copy of Windows, CrossOver integrates
with OS X to enable Windows apps to run within the Mac operating system.
'CrossOver Mac will be the very best way to run your Windows
applications on your Intel Mac,' said Codeweavers' CEO Jeremy White.
'It will let you install and run Windows programs as though they were
native, all without having to buy or run a copy of Windows itself.'
The CrossOver Mac beta is available from codeweavers.com/beta/cxmac.

Meanwhile, Parallels has announced that its Desktop for Mac
software, which enables Intel mac users to run Windows and other
operating systems at the same time as OS X, now supports Apple's recently introduced Mac Pro and is compatible with OS X 10.5 Leopard, scheduled to be released in spring 2007.
