We provide accessible facilities, and may be able to provide additional personal support or equipment.
If you are returning to studying after a long break, worried about your basic skills, or that your disability or situation might hinder your progress, begin by talking to your tutor, or contact Adult Learning Team on 01253 478131, or e-mail kevin.beesting@blackpool.gov.uk
We will do our best to offer appropriate support, so that your learning experience will be enjoyable and successful.
We have good access for learners who have difficulties with mobility, or use wheelchairs. Disabled parking is available.
There are disabled toilets and every effort is made to ensure that ground floor accommodation is available. Most of our teaching rooms are on the ground floor, annual risk assessments are made and we endeavour to ensure that venues are accessible.
We can provide an interpreter, and have a minicom facility and mobile induction loop system for learners who have difficulty hearing. Flashing warning lights and vibrating fire alarms are available for residents.
If you are blind or visually impaired, information can be provided in larger print, on tape or in Braille. We also have computer programmes, which magnify the computer screen and read text. There is contrasted signing throughout college, with Braille signage on staircase and toilet doors.
We make every effort to consider the needs of all learners, and we are working towards open enrolment by listening to your concerns and continually improving our services and support.
We recognise current legislation in relation to equal opportunities, and respect your right to privacy. We aim to offer appropriate advice, whilst being sensitive to your right to confidentiality.
