CLEVELEYS WRITERS GROUP 2012
Cleveleys Writers have held school poetry competitions for a number of years but in 2010 they changed the goalposts and introduced a lyric Competition. The aim of the lyric competition was to put pride back into the schools and the community by giving each school the title of their school as part of the title of the poem. It was hoped that some schools would eventually adopt their entry as their own school song. The idea was greeted with enthusiasm by Northfold, Stanah, Ancholsholme Primary schools and High schools Millfield, Cardinal Allen and Fleetwood High
The standard amongst the competing schools was high and our two musicians Ivan McKeon and David Hennerley assisted by the President Malcolm Brocklehurst had difficulty in selecting a winner which again proved ‘CLEVELEYS HAS TALENT’
