ALLOTMENT OPEN DAYS.
Ever wondered what allotments are like in the modern day? Come along to one, or more, of the three Open Days at three different sites and find out. Every year the National Society of Allotments and Leisure Gardeners hold National Allotment Week. This is used to promote the allotment movement and help the public gain an insight into what facilities are available.
The dates for the Open Days are as follows.
Layton Permanent Allotments. Beckway, off Torsway, Layton.
Sunday August the 10th between 11am and 3pm.
Bridge Farm Allotments. Hawes Side Lane, Marton.
Sunday August 17th between 11am and 3pm.
Oxford Allotments. Oxford Square, Whitegate Drive, Marton.
Sunday August 24th between 11am and 3pm.
There will be activities arranged for the day which will include; produce sales, plant sales, tombola and bric-a-brac.
Refreshments will also be available.
Some plot holders will be available to discus keeping allotments and to answer your "growing" questions.
