A marinade of soy and hoisin sauce adds colour and an oriental flavour to roast pork.
Preparation time 10 mins plus at least 2 hrs marinating

Ingredients2 pork fillets, about 12 oz each1 tsp chinese 5 spice2 cloves garlic, crushed75 gms / 2 3/4 oz sugar125 ml / 4 fl oz hoisin sauce3 tblsp soy sauce
2 tblsp dry sherry
1. Trim any fat from the pork.2. Mix together the remaining ingredients 3. Place the pork in a glass dish and pour the mixture over and rub it in4. Cover and leave to marinate in the fridge for 2 hours5. Heat the oven to 200˚ C / 400˚ F / gas 66. Place the meat in a roasting dish and roast for 25 mins basting with the marinade frequently7. Turn the meat over 1/2 way through the cooking time8. Remove from the oven and leave to rest for 15 mins before carving
9. Whilst the pork is resting make a sauce from the juices left in the bottom of the pan and remaining marinade
Serve with noodles and stir fry vegetables
