Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage originates from India.  It is an ancient therapy passed down through the generations, from father to son, from mother to daughter. IT was brought to Britain in the 1970s by Narendra Mehta who adapted it to suit the western way of life. It treats the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. It is a very relaxing treatment both physically and mentally.

It is a particularly apt therapy for treating the ailments of the modern world – stress and tension. With so much work now done on computers in the workplace the most common ailments are tension in the back and neck, which leads to headaches. Working constantly with the computer screen can also lead to eyestrain.

Benefits of Indian Head Massage

  • Relieves muscle tension
  • Can relieve headaches
  • Can relieve eyestrain
  • Can relieve tiredness
  • Can relieve sinus congestion
  • Improves circulation
  • Improves lymphatic drainage
  • Relieves stress
  • Revitalises
  • Gives a feeling of well-being

Indian Head Massage is ideal for taking into the workplace as the therapy is done in a chair and the massage is carried out through the clothing.

Regular treatments using oils on the hair can improve hair growth and condition.

Treatments sessions last for about 45 mins, with office based adaptations lasting between 15-20 mins. A brief medical and lifestyle consultation is always taken before treatment to ensure client safety and suitability.
