Forums - Overview

To reach the forums click on the My Forums link at the top of every page or Channel Forum under Features in a channel. This takes you to the Forums homepage which lists all the forums that you have access to.

If you are a guest/visitor to Blackpool4Me you will only be able to view and contribute to the "B4Me General Discussion" forum.
If you are a registered user you will also be able to contribute to and view any other forums in channels of which you are a member.

Top Line links

• Forums Home - returns you to the list of your forums
• Search - enter your search term and hit GO
• Members - lists the usernames of everyone who has visited the Forums. Please note this list continues over a number of pages
• Calendar - on which you can view and add events
• Who's On - lists the usernames of everyone currently in the Forums

Next Line links

• Control Panel - where you can enter personal details, change settings and view messages
• Messages - takes you to the inbox of your personal message box
• Recent Posts - where you can choose to view the most recent postings in your forums
• Popular Topics - where you can choose to view the most popular topics

Blackpool4Me Forums
Lists forums in the main Blackpool4Me channel. Click on the name of the forum you want to visit.

Blackpool4Me Channel Forums
Lists the forums in channels where you are a member. Click on the name of the channel whose forum you want to visit.

Gives you a picture of forum use

Forum Key
A key to the types of forums available in your listings

Visiting a forum (as a guest or registered user)

Click on the forum name
You will then see under the name of the forum the titles of the topics and polls within it
Click on the title of the topic or poll you want to view
In a topic you will see all the messages posted on this topic by forum members
In a poll you will see the results of the survey and any messages about it

Contributing to a forum
(guests/visitors are restricted to the Blackpool4Me General Discussion))

For each topic you can
Add Reply - enter your message in the box and post it
Add Topic - start a new topic for discussion
Add Poll - enter a question and possible responses

Within a topic, for each posting you can
Reply to that message
Quote that message in your reply
Report a posting to which you object to the moderator of that forum (usually the channel manager)
Edit or Delete a posting of which you are the author

Where you can create, send and receive messages from other registered users of Blackpool4Me

Your Profile
Which appears when someone clicks on your username which appears next to a posting etc., and chooses to view your member profile

Personal Details
Edit Signature - that appears on all your postings and events
Edit Avatar - the image that can appear alongside all your postings
Edit Personal Photo - the image that appears in your member profile

Options
Forum Settings - enables you to personalise your forums and the messages that other registered users send you. Please note that here you can

• untick the Private Messages box if you do not want to receive messages from other users
• tick the Observe Daylight Saving Time box below Choose Time Zone to make sure your forums display the correct time

E-Mail Settings - configure which e-mails you wish to receive
Edit Attachments - stores any attachments to your messages
Edit Topic Ratings - stores the ratings you have given to forum topics
