We are very fortunate to have Moor Park Pool in our ward. It offers a modern 25-metre pool and a separate teaching pool.

There are a variety of sessions including:

• Adults only swim - Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9.30pm
• Pool inflatable / fun session - Saturdays 2pm to 4pm
• Toddler fun session (Teaching Pool only) on Sundays 10am to 12 noon.

These special sessions do not cost extra as the normal admission price applies to whatever swim session you go along to.

Aqua Aerobics sessions are held on Sundays; there are two sessions 6pm-7pm and 7pm-8pm and the cost is £4.50 which reduces to £3.50 per session with a leisure card.

Swimming lessons forming part of 'Blackpool's Learn to Swim Scheme' (which follows the Amateur Swimming Assocation's National Plan for Teaching of Swimming) are also available.

The lessons operate on a course basis during school term-times and intensive courses are run during the school holidays.

Lessons offered include:

• Parent, Adult and Toddler lessons from 6 months to 4 years of age
• Junior swimming lessons - from 5 years of age
• Adult swimming lessons
• Synchronised Swimming.

Swim Scheme lesson co-ordinators are in place to ensure availability of classes according to demand and also to monitor the quality of the lessons themselves.

Moor Park Pool provides a 'free swimming initiative' for children under 16 years of age. This operates during the school holidays only, and is available Monday to Friday from 1.30pm to 4pm.
