Update: Eleven hard-working volunteers cleared almost one ton of litter and fly-tipping from around Kincraig Lake during the two hour litter pick - and there is still more work to be done. It is very sad that people continue to blight such a lovely area, and the Friends of Kincraig Lake hope that the offenders will think twice about polluting the lake now that it is being cleaned up.
A large number of empty bottles and cans were removed from both in and around the lake. As the site is one of the areas in Blackpool covered by a street drinking prohibition order, the police will be monitoring this and will take appropriate action if anyone is found drinking.
If you would like to more on information about the Friends of Kincraig Lake, please contact the Chairman, Allan Burton, on Blackpool 590632, or come along to the next meeting on Monday 28th April at 6pm at Stronsay Place Community Centre.

The newly formed Friends of Kincraig Lake are wasting no time in starting to make a difference to the registered biological heritage site that they want to clean up. They are organising a litter pick on Saturday 12th April between 1pm and 3pm.
Members of the group will be joined by Blackpool North and Fleetwood MP, Joan Humble, and founder member Councillor Kath Rowson as they put their backs into clearing up litter and fly tipping that not only blights the area, but causes harm to the resident wildlife.
The volunteers are meeting at the paved duck feeding area at the side of the lake (pictured above) at 1pm. Everyone welcome!
