On 16th September, Blackpool Equalities Forum hosted the launch of Blackpool Council's first Hate Crime Reporting Policy. The policy highlights Blackpool Council's commitment to reducing hate crime and improving the quality of life of the residents of Blackpool. You can read the policy and related documents by visiting the Blackpool Council Website. The forum has played an important role in the developing the policy and reporting system. The event was a great opportunity for lots of people from different backgrounds and communities to get together, discuss community issues and have fun!
The event was jointly funded by Blackpool Council and Celebr8 and took place on Tuesday 16th September at St Johns Community Centre, Church Street. There was Forum Theatre and an interactive workshop on Hate Crime and Community Cohesion in Blackpool from Dead Earnest, along with a quiz and light buffet.
