The Volunteer Centre can now offer accreditation, training and support to volunteers aged 19 plus who live in Blackpool.
The Volunteer Centre currently offers the following opportunities:
AQA qualifications
AQA’s are accredited qualifications which recognise on the job skills and roles that volunteers do. i.e. you can achieve an AQA in anything from organising a fund raising event to developing computer skills or helping out at your local dance group to conservation work. There are over 3500 AQA’s available!!
ASDAN qualifications
There are two ASDAN courses and qualifications available at the Volunteer Centre.
The Certificate in Community Volunteering is a 10 week course which recognises good practice in volunteering and the general skills that volunteers need to perform their role effectively. The course provides workshops and support in completing a portfolio of evidence. Full 1 to 1 support and materials are provided. Level 2 is equivalent of 2 GCSE’s Grade B.
The Community Involvement and Volunteering Award provides a certificate of achievement for volunteer who are involved in up to 60 hours of Community Involvement and Volunteering activity. Volunteers will receive 1 to 1 support in producing information about their volunteering experiences through a variety of forms for instance making a video or a DVD about their project or making a collage out of photographs
