NCH is the Children's charity of the Methodist Church.
In 2007, North Shore's Centenary year, our financial focus was mainly centred on our own church. However, generous support was given to our Morecambe Bay Walk and the Christmas Eve - and Christmas Day collections - which were donated to NCH.
We were particularly grateful for the donations of £60, which enabled Gemma, a young carer, to have a 'day off' in London during the Christmas period. Usually Gemma cares for her sick mother and little brother, but her fun day included ice skating and going to see a show with other carers.
Many thanks to the twenty church families, who this year have supported the NCH 'Count Your Blessings' lenten appeal.
During the forty days of lent they have developed their awareness of NCH's work with children and young people, and contributed an amount to that days 'blessing'.
On Sunday 27th April, NCH was the chosen charity for the Blackpool Marathon and Half Marathon, which began at the Hilton Hotel.
Thank you also to all our faithful Lantern Box collectors who annually provide an additional £100 - £200 to NCH funds. Please keep up the good work! |
