About The Park
Park History
Stanley Park was commissioned to be built in 1921 by landscape architects Thomas Mawson & Sons and was offically opened on the 2nd October 1926 by Sir George Edward Villers Stanley, after whom the park was named.
Park Features
Stanley Park covers approximately 2 and a half miles and includes 96 acres of golf courses and 22 acres of lake.
The park provides natural habitats for a variety of wildlife and flora and there are numerous recreational facilities to enjoy which were included into the park's original landscape design, such as the Cafe, Conservatories,
Italian
Garden
and Rose Garden.
The park also plays host to many high standard sports facilities. The Sports Centre is a modern fitness centre and gym containing badminton, basketball, table tennis and gymnastic amenities and many more.
The cricket ground is home to Blackpool Cricket Club and the Athletic Arena, a covered stand with seats for 300+ people, is the headquarters of Blackpool & Fylde Athletic Club.
Myerscough
Agricultural
College
also has a

Park
campus and a garden centre where you can purchase plants, trees and flowers for your garden.
