We are the members of Blackpool South Constituency Labour Party.  We seek to ensure that everyone benefits fairly by campaigning for improvements in our area of Blackpool.

What's new at the moment?  The Stanley Ward by-election result was:

• Conservative (Jean Kenrick) 648 votes
• Labour (John Jones) 602 votes - how close is that!!!!
• Lib Dem (Michael Hodkinson) 332 votes
• UKIP (Colin Porter) 203 votes
• BNP (Les Joy)192 votes

We would like to congratulate John on a fine campaign.  He deserved better - and if the story about the £10,000 worth of donations by Kensington builders to the local Tory party had broken a day or two earlier before so many postal votes had been sent in, John Jones would now be Stanley Ward's councillor. 
Jean Kenrick has no mandate from the people of Stanley Ward: she should resign. And she has not followed through her "commitment" to the people of Stanley Ward - check her voting record in Council where she has joined the other Tories in voting down the Labour Group's proposal opposing building on the Moss.
