Quality Homes in Clean and Green Residential Areas
Blackpool is a densely populated residential area and there is a need to make better use of public space and accessibility through public transport. There are high numbers of privately rented properties and we must work with landlords to make improvements.
Integrated Neighbourhood Improvement (INI) Focus
There are some neighbourhoods, clustered just outside the town centre, that experience multiple deprivation; where people have poorer health, lower educational attainment and poor housing. There will be co-ordinated delivery of services, physical change, employment and educational opportunities to improve people's life outcomes.
Achieving Decent Homes through an Estate Focus
The estates of Grange Park, Mereside and Queens Park experience multiple deprivation so the delivery of joined up services will continue. This will result in better homes and communities and will improve life opportunities for residents.
Thriving District Centres
Neighbourhoods need sites of focus where shops, businesses and services are located. A number of larger centres have been identified as District Centres and will undergo physical change to ensure residents are better served.
Green and Open Spaces
The environment will be improved through greening schemes, making nature more accessible and through developing the parks and green spaces that already exist. This will result in more residents having access to green and open spaces.
