Liveability Action Plan
(12 March 2007)

Presented by Hugh Wignall, Blackpool Council
(hugh.wignall@blackpool.gov.uk)

Approximately 500 local residents have been approached to discuss any issues of concern in the areas in which they live, particular emphasis is given to the Re-assurance Plus Areas. The outcome of this was that most of the residents thought that the main priorities are dog fouling, littering and fly tipping. There was some debate, however, as to whether or not this approach showed true facts as the same 500 people were asked to air their views each time and only represented a small proportion of local residents in the Blackpool area.

Hugh offered to come back to explain the Re-assurance Programme in more detail.

Ray commented that at this stage, it is only an action plan and nothing is set in stone, and there are real opportunities to influence the plan.
