Claiming Expenses
In circumstances where disabled persons are unable to travel by public transport or their own vehicle, taxis may be used, subject to prior approval.
Travel by privately owned car: the driver is personally liable for any incident, thus drivers should ensure that their own private motor insurance policy is in place and provides appropriate cover. If an individual’s own car is used, a mileage rate will be paid at 40p per mile, subject to prior approval.
SURF will endeavour to provide/cover costs for care issues that may arise to enable members to attend specific meetings.
All expenses must be claimed within one month of the expenditure incurred.
All claims are to be made on the official SURF expenses claim form, available from the SURF staff, either at the office or whilst attending a particular meeting if pre-arranged.
The organisation will only make reimbursement for actual reasonable expenses necessarily incurred and if supported by a receipt where appropriate.
