Aims and Objectives

To develop an inclusive and sustainable network
  • Developing a robust and sustainable community and voluntary sector network (the CEN).
  • Seeking to include the most deprived and marginalised groups.
  • Seeking to ensure there is full representation from all geographical areas within Blackpool.
  • Actively encouraging younger people to become involved in the community and voluntary sector and within the Network.

To promote participation

  • Providing effective and accessible information to local groups.
  • Promoting a clear message of what the Network hopes to achieve and the benefits of membership.
  • By using innovative and interesting ways to engage with local groups.
  • Developing outreach services within the community.
  • Ensuring that all voluntary and community representatives are elected through a fair and transparent electoral system.
  • Ensuring that the Blackpool CEN representatives on the LSP and its Themed Groups are fully accountable to the Network.
  • Working in partnership with the statutory and other partners on the LSP.
  • Contributing positively in the improvement of local services.
  • Developing the capacity of local groups to better represent their communities and influence change.
  • Providing a local resource base for groups.
  • Ensuring that people are not out of pocket in attending meetings on behalf of the Network.

To unite the community

  • Ensuring that all groups within the Network are equally valued.
  • Developing capacity building programmes that are aimed at building trust within the community.
  • Ensuring that all the groups within the Network are able to voice their needs and concerns effectively.
  • Developing a programme of capacity building that meets the needs of all groups within the Network.
