Welcome to the Community Consultations homepage

If local services are to better meet local needs and aspirations, local people need to be genuinely involved in developing these services.  It is only by listening to the experiences and ideas of the people who live in these communities that we can find solutions which will make a lasting difference.

In particular the effective engagement of local people is critical to the regeneration of our most disadvantaged communities.

Central government expects lead organisations to put structures in place to engage effectively with local people and is now beginning to put into place formal standards for performance in this area.

This site has been set up to help public sector service providers streamline their consultations and share information on community engagement and good practice.

If you are about to run a consultation, have recently run one, or have any news about Community Engagement / Consultation, let us know!

The main areas of the site are:

Current Consultations - contains a table of forthcoming consultations in date order.  Check this page if you're about to run a community consultation, you may be able to join forces with another organisation, avoiding duplication and saving time and money.

Past Consultations - contains results and summaries of consultations that have already been carried out.  The information you're looking for might already have been found!

Regular Consultations - several regular consultations are held throughout Blackpool, such as Area Forums, Public Reassurance and PACT meetings. Where appropriate, these can be useful platforms for consulting the public on specific issues.

Good Practice - case studies and written examples from partner organisations.

Documents - contains relevant documents
