This bid for I-CAN is targeted at members of wards identified by ERDF, and attempts to reduce the “Digital Divide,” between those socially excluded and the most affluent of society who are often the most “Information rich.” Areas of particular social and economic deprivation are being targeted as part of the Council’s overall strategy to promote social inclusion in the development of ICT skills for all that want and need them.  This targeting can be in the form of providing basic skills for those that want them or more advanced skills for those interested in using ICT on a more permanent basis. Therefore all six Priority 2 Wards have been specifically targeted for this project:

  1.       Alexandra
  2.     Brunswick
  3.     Claremont
  4.     Foxhall
  5.     Park
  6.     Talbot

Summary

I-CAN is the name of the bid project which brings together Blackpool4Me and the deployment of kiosks to deliver a community information service
