Details
The aim of this project, The Interactive Community Access Network (I-CAN) is to provide easy to access ICT facilities and more easy to use, user targeted internet software for members of all six eligible wards of Blackpool.
This will be achieved by installing ICT kiosks in each of the eligible six wards. These will be broken down into 5 on street ICT kiosks (one in each of five of the six eligible wards of Blackpool) and 9 internal kiosks.
4 of these internal kiosks are situated in the Customer First Centre of Blackpool Town Hall; the other 5 kiosks are located in other accessible Community environments. The external kiosks use the same principle as pay phones and so will be easy to use and accessible 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The ease of usage of these machines will be achieved through a specifically created web access portal interface built around Blackpool4Me.
