Blackpool Illuminations 1924, I bet it takes some of you back a bit and for you young’uns it probably all looks rather quaint. Below you can view a movie of the Pleasure Beach  taken in the 1920s.

I’m a sand grown'un myself, I was born on the Moss, christened at the old St Nicholas church, baptised at the old Shovels Inn and attended St Nicholas church school. Below is a picture of me in 1949 walking down Waterloo road with one of my older sisters.

In those days the outskirts of Blackpool was mostly green belt and trams ran everywhere.

I suppose we all have nostalgic memories of times past, but sadly some of us don’t have anyone that we can share them with. Well you are more than welcome to share them with us. Why not pop in to see us, the kettle is always on....Brother Roy
