RENDEZVOUS OVER 55s COFFEE CLUB MEETS ON THE FIRST TUESDAY MORNING OF EACH MONTH AT ALL SAINTS HALL, PARK ROAD, BLACKPOOL


The meeting in October was a special one as it was the club's birthday.

 

The meeting on September 1st 2009 was a commemoration of the outbreak of the 2nd world war. Following the coffee, tea and exceedingly good cakes, was a celebration in song.

Marque of Excellence Award
Marque of Excellence Award
New Central Methodist Church has become the first sacred site in Blackpool to be awarded the Marque of Excellence by the North West Multi Faith Tourism Association. New Central was described as "an outstanding example of a sacred site that exists not only to serve its own congregation but to reach out and welcome the whole community."

Last Service for Vicar
The farewell service for the Rev. Peter Warren took place on Sunday 28th June 2009. There were tributes given of Peter's ministry to the church as a whole and to individuals. He preached his farewell sermon. Many friends came from near and far to wish Peter well for his future assignment in Cambodia. He will be greatly missed.

Swimathon Update

The Swimathon by John Scheggia (70) and Harold Spencer (82) amounted to a total 158 x 20 metre lengths and raised an amazing £607.50 before the addition of Gift Aid. Sincere thanks to all who supported that effort towards the provision of disabled facilities at the hall. A terrific effort all round!

Sponsored Swim
Two sporty members decided to swim their ages in lengths of the Dalmeny Swimming Pool to raise money for the church Renewal and Relocation fund. Harold Spencer managed over 80 laps and John Scheggia over 70. Well done, guys!
