The Bishop of Blackburn was welcomed to our church to conduct a service of confirmation. We were joined by members of other churches who came to support their confirmation candidates. The Bishop preached a wonderful sermon about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, making it so up to date with his references to being "chipped" (as in microchips).Bishop Nicholas leads the candidates out following their confirmation...and poses for the necessary photo shoot ...with our own members of Christ Church with All Saints....our friends from St. Mark's....and Steve, a visitor from Penwortham.People were reluctant to leave after the service and stayed chatting before sampling the lovely homemade cakes.
