Producers benefit from Fairrade in more ways than one.
So do consumers.
If a product is fairly traded it means the producer will have been paid a fair price for their crop/handicrafts. Instead of the multi national corporation who packs the product taking an unfair cut, the money goes directly to those who have worked for it. Those who feel aid may not be given to those it was intended for may be assured that Fairtrade money is given to individuals not governments.
The Fairtrade criteria ensures sweatshops and other employee abuses are outlawed.
The consumer benfits by receiving consistently high quality products. This is often organic and is always produced with regard for sustainability and the aim of preventing further damage to our planet.
It is now possible to go on holiday and visit some of the producers in various countries - so you can check it out for yourself.
