The NEAT Team

The Neighbourhood and Environment Action Team

If you are wanting to get rid of large household items , why not take advantage of the Council's bulky waste removal scheme ?

The NEAT team are able to remove large household things like beds, washing machines and wardrobes.

A small charge is made for this service:

  •     up to 3 items - £10
  •     4 to 10 items - £20
  •     11 items and more - £35

You should be aware that the NEAT team cannot collect cast iron items, building rubble, tyres and fluorescent tubes.

Fridges, TVs and computer monitors are classed as 'hazardous waste' and are collected separately - still by the NEAT Team.

Fridges can be collected - the charge is £12.50
TVs and Computer Monitors - the charge is £5

House clearances can be quoted at an hourly rate.

Telephone the Council's hot all-purpose number of 477477, ask the operator for the NEAT Team.  Your request will be logged and they will contact you to make arrangements.

This NEAT Team service is part of the Council's drive to discourage anti-social activity by the minority of residents who leave their waste in other people's back alleys.
Under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act, 2005 there are many powers that Blackpool Council and the Police can use to tackle environmental crime such as:

  •     dropping litter
  •     leaving waste (including putting out your domestic refuse)too
  •     early
  •     dog fouling
  •     abandoned motor vehicles
  •     noise - including loud music and barking dogs
  •     grafitti

Each of these environmental crimes carries a fixed penalty.  If witnessed by an authorised officer a fine can be issued costing from £50 up to £500.

Depositing domestic waste for collection too early is itself an offence.  If you are unsure of your collection day, contact Customer First on 477477

If you would like to report any fly tipping or anyone putting out their rubish too early - on or before collection day - please ring 477477.
