Cut down unwanted calls

Do you get unwanted calls?

Have you had this situation?

You are just sitting down to your evening meal, and the telephone rings.  It rings every night at about the same time, and it is always someone trying to sell you something;  trying to get you to sign up to something;  wanting to tell you that you have just been chosen as the recipient of a time-share opportunity. Worse still, there is silence, a delay and then an automated voice kicks in. Where do they get your details from?

These days information about you and your preferences is widely circulated among companies, and try as you might by ticking the "no, do not pass on my information; do not share it with relevant third parties", companies will see you, your family and your lifestyle as an opportunity to market and sell.

So, do you want to stop the calls?

Well, help is at hand, and it is very easy to do something about them...................

The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) was set up to provide a way for people to opt out from receiving unsolicited calls from sales and marketting companies and organisations to home or mobile telephone numbers.  It has been a legal requirement for some time now for all organisations to adhere to the rules of the TPS and not to make calls to any numbers registered on its database unless they have concent to do so.
