Welcome Guest

Councillor Kath Rowson and Roy Lewis listening to the concerns of young people in Ingthorpe

Ingthorpe Labour News

 Summer 2007

Keeping in touch ALL year,
                                  not just at Elections

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you to everyone who supported Councillor Kath Rowson and Roy Lewis by voting for them in the recent Local Elections. We were disappointed that Roy wasn’t also elected, as he always worked very hard for the residents of Ingthorpe. Kath has promised to continue to fight for the area as your Labour Councillors have always done.
Removal of Planters in Bispham Village
Kath Rowson has organised a number of meetings with Council Officers, and we are delighted to report that she has been successful in ensuring that the planters in Bispham Village will be removed in the very near future. Kath has always advocated “greening up” our town but, along with other residents, was appalled when those planters appeared. They were dangerously sited and certainly didn’t enhance the Village in any way! Kath has arranged for the planters to be re-sited in Moor Park, East Pines Park and Devonshire Road Rock Gardens at the request of their “Friends” Groups.
Ingthorpe In Bloom
Kath promised to continue this very popular competition if she was re-elected and, true to her word, has organised judging for Friday 27th July 2007. The entry form is printed below. Good luck everyone!
Rubbish Amnesty
Kath Rowson’s Rubbish Amnesties in April were a resounding success. They were so popular that they over-ran their times on both days!
Kath is well known for her campaigns against litter and fly tipping, and is determined to carry on looking for ways to clean up our area. She also hopes to organise further Rubbish Amnesties in other parts of Ingthorpe later in the year.
Kincraig Community Family Fun Day
To celebrate the completion of the Ashfield Road Pond Development by the Kincraig Neighbourhood Play Toolkit (started by Kath Rowson 4 years ago), and the building of the Children’s Centre on Kincraig Road, the Toolkit Group and Kincraig School are jointly organising a Family Fun Day on July 14th from 11.30am to 4pm. Along with games, stalls, fancy dress etc., there will be a display in the Children’s Centre to explain what services will be available to the community. Contact Kath for further information.
Tenants’ Surgery
Blackpool Coastal Housing Officers will hold a surgery on the LAST Tuesday of every month at Kincraig Place Day Centre from 2pm to 4pm; starting on 26th June. This will enable tenants to report/discuss problems concerning anti-social behaviour, rent etc. locally. Kath Rowson has long campaigned for this as a number of tenants are unable to travel to the Housing Office at Queens Park, and she is delighted to have succeeded.
Change to Councillor’s Surgery
Kath Rowson now holds a surgery on the FIRST Monday of every month (except Bank Holidays) at Kincraig Place Day Centre from 6pm to 6.30pm, and jointly with the Police at the PACT meetings on the first Wednesday of every month at Kincraig Place Day Centre from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
Kath can also be contacted either by telephone or e-mail:
