An entry in the 2001 competition
Update
Thank you to everyone who took part in the 2008 competition. There were 29 entries in the 4 categories, and the judges were very impressed with the standard that many people had achieved. I wish we could have given everyone an award!
Unfortunately I didn’t see any of the entries as I fell and broke my ankle and tore a ligament as we set off to judge. The judges, PC Michelle Stewart and Tim Riley kindly ran me to the hospital before they toured the gardens, and Tim picked me up when they’d finished judging.

Ingthorpe In Bloom 2008
Once again I'm organising the annual Ingthorpe In Bloom competition to acknowledge the hard work of residents whose gardens brighten our community.
Judging will take place on Thursday 31st July, and the closing date for entries is Friday 24th July.
There are 4 categories
- Front Garden
- Back Garden
- Hanging Baskets
- Baskets/Containers (for flats/houses with no garden)
I have received confirmation from the new Ingthorpe Community Beat Manager, PC Michelle Stewart, and Tim Riley from Blackpool Council's Parks & Green Environment Services that they are happy to judge the competition.
As usual, I will NOT be judging myself! I just organise the event and enjoy looking at the beautiful gardens as I accompany the judges.
