post office closes

The fight to save our local post office on St Annes Rd has unfortunately failed despite strenuous efforts from our M.P Gordon Marsden,your ward councillors and Officers at the Council.Post Offices Ltd would not release the information needed by the council to put a rescue package together.

A big thankyou to all  who signed the petition and rallied to the fight,I believe we won the argument but lost the fight.I personally find the adverts for the post office that appear on television most insulting.If the post offices are the peoples post offices they should have listened to the people and kept the post office open.
