Volunteers

Claremont First Step Community Centre is very fortunate to be supported by a dedicated team of volunteers. Without the support of our volunteers the Centre would struggle to perform as it does. Therefore if you could spare as little as a few hours a week or more and you wish to support our Community Centre then please consider the numerous opportunities for voluntary placements, which are as follows. We have a Community Cafe, Cafe@Monty's which is heavily reliant on volunteers, please see our webpage for Our Cafe. The Cafe is open five days a week 9am to 4pm and is the focal point of the life of the Centre. On a Monday we have our Monday Social Club for pensioners which runs from 10am to 3pm for up to 20 pensioners see our webpage for Monday Club, our volunteers serve breakfast, lunch, play bingo, do quizzes etc. On Friday's we have our Luncheon Club for up to 48 pensioners, our volunteers are our waitresses, servers and kitchen staff. We have a reception area which can be manned by volunteers welcoming visitors to the centre. We have also had volunteers who have undertaken cleaning duties within the centre.

In the past we have taken our volunteers out for the day on rewards trips e.g Bolton market, Oswaldtwistle Mills. Each year we have a Christmas party meal which is always free to our volunteers. All in all our volunteers enjoy their times in the Centre and make good friends along the way.
