ONE WORLD ONE PROMISE

-        A theme to capture the aspirations and hopes of young people for the future……….

Today I look to the world and what do I see

A world in torment not a friendly place to be.

Global warming, rising tides, much more to come

The futures not bright, in fact it may be awesome.

Today I look to the world and what do I see

Famine, genocides, this was not meant to be

War for oil, petty warlords, terrorism, clashes of faith

Why can’t we live in a world that’s more safe

Today I look to the future and what do I see

All hope is with the youth that’s what must be

One World One Promise at Scouting’s centenary

All living in harmony after the 21st Jamboree.

SCOUT CUISINE
Scouts are best well boiled and served with cheese sauce
Though they are very tasty on their own of course
And if you're in a hurry, or find cooking is a bore
Just chop them into pieces, as you can eat them raw
Scouts are very cheap just now in markets here abouts
Oh Dear! I've got a bit confused , I think that I mean sprouts.

TAKE CARE

You can never be too careful,

That’s what I always say,

And so I wear a hat, or two,

In case my hair turns grey.

I’ve thirteen tires on my car,

In case I get a flat.

I wear my pants size fifty-three,

In case I grow too fat

You can never be too careful,

I’m sure you’ll find it’s true.

I see the doctor every day,

In case I catch the flu.

I carry twenty handkerchiefs,

In case I have to sneeze,

And forty seven bandages,

In case I skin my knees.

You can never be too careful,

So if I take a walk,

I tiptoe everywhere I go

And whisper when I talk.

I hide my money in a box,

And lock it up inside Fort Knox.

My house is made of bricks and rocks.

The front door has a hundred locks.

But now I have a problem, see,

I’m locked inside without the key.

I’ve lost it and I can’t get free.

I hid it much too carefully.
