Three or four times a year, Cleveley's Writers undertake new projects. the aims of which are to practice our writing skills with PERFORMANCE POETRY given in support of local charities. Each month we go along to the Trinity Hospice Low Moor Rd. Blackpool to perform our own work. This venue is a loveley experience for the readers and we like to think that our listeners also love to hear us.
We also do live readings of our plays and poems at BLUE IRIS which is the internet website for the Blackpool based Talking Newspaper for blind and partially sighted persons.
A WASH OUT
Due to the unprecedented awful monsoon type weather of June our recent venue for the 'ON THE ROAD' team held on June 30th and July 1st at Lawsons Field Stanley Park. Cleveleys Writers was a washout. Cleveley's Writers battled against the rain to sell an anthology named ANGELS IN DISQUISE. The anthology was sold by donations of £1 and the proceeds went to the NW Air Ambulance but due to lack of attendees on the two day event, our fund raising fell well below expectations.
