Welcome Guest

A little bit more about us....

St Bernadette's Players site on Blackpool4Me is administered by Carolyn Quay and Phillip Higginbottom. We keep the site as upto date as possible with events and productions which are taking place.  Unlike most amdram groups all our plays and pantomimes are performed in our own church hall.  Our little hall boasts a sound and lighting room and our own workshop for set design and construction, which we call The Ark.

Who are Carolyn and Phil?

Carolyn is back with St Bernadette's Players after a short time away, and is now the secretary for the group. She is very much an active member and actually found out about Blackpool4Me through work. Carolyn started acting from an early age and began in pantomimes including Aladdin and Babes in the Wood. She has also been involved in various school productions and was a main stay at Thornton Youth Theatre.

After returning to St Bernadette's she landed a role in the ghost story A Murder has been Arranged. Along with other roles, her latest achievement was directing and participating in the award winning Feb '06 Panto at the OK Corral. St Bernadette's Players scooped the top 3 prize, Best Pantomime 2006!
Phil joined St B's back in 1997 and started off as the story teller in Beauty and the Beast. Since then he has played various roles from Panto Dame's and Baddies to a 50 year old in the last production When We Are Married - he apparently claims to be only 27! His earlier stage experiences were with his two cousins singing with the late Donald Turnbull. He was a regular at the music festivals in the poetry reading classes, with moderate success.

So far he has 3 productions to his credit as director and is rumoured to be having itchy feet to do his next one!

The main aim is to allow everyone in Blackpool and surrounding area to see what we do and possibly come and join us. We are just intoour30th year as a local amateur group. We are always looking for new members.

Feel free to ask questions about the group and or productions. If we don't know the answer we will find someone who may!
