Our team members are qualified educational professionals, who have moved into the education sector after successful careers in music and creative theatre arts. We have extensive experience in the fields of: music, drama, singing, stagecraft, costume and design for the stage. These skills can be transferred and applied to many life situations, as well as being a fun tool to develop other invaluable skills such as:
· increasing confidence, developing communication skills,
· improving self- esteem, organising fund raising events.
C.A.T.S projects have stimulated users to be creative and develop their own progression route into education, music and performing arts, where they have developed communication skills, confidence and new aspirations.
“Benefits to the user”
One of Blackpool C.A.T.S main aims is to deliver creative courses using the arts as an educational tool to develop people onto the academic ladder. The intensity and level of the course required will be determined by the needs of the group. To encourage more people to take part in the arts, the projects are taken to the target groups, and there is no cost to the users once funding has been achieved and allocated. Mobility is one of C.A.T.S key strengths, as is our unique teaching and learning model and we believe this has been the key to our success.
“Filling the Gap…”
As well as individual personal development, C.A.T.S believe that performing arts can also bring recreational and economic benefits to the community. We encourage those who have successfully achieved their full potential artistically, to participate in putting Blackpool back on the map as the capital of the arts in the North West. Moreover, Blackpool C.A.T.S intend to continue attracting those individuals who are unable to access local theatre schools and groups through lack of funding and give them the same opportunities as everyone else. Finally, we see Blackpool C.A.T.S as a service provider to the community, supporting peoples’ personal development needs. C.A.T.S intends to continue initiating, sustaining and developing community arts groups and supporting them in fulfilling their potential in and out of creative theatre arts.
