Peter Kay Extols the Merits of Teaching of Drama in Schools

Children in a drama workshop

Much-loved Bolton Comedian, Peter Kay, recently wrote in his autobigraphy about the importance of drama classes for children, to aid their development and prepare them for life in general.

“I’ve always believed drama to be an important subject. It’s not just about play-acting, it’s about giving children confidence and ironing out their inhibitions. I realise most of them may never go near a stage again once they’ve left school, but I guarantee that they’ll exude a charisma and confidence for the rest of their lives as a result of being taught drama”

Peter Kay studied drama at school and he is certainly not short of confidence! Thank you for that, Peter. Hopefully this will encourage more people to take their children to drama classes and join up themselves. It's never too late!
