In Kent the council have installed new park keepers. Some time ago we too had the old parkies walking around our local parks and ensuring that there was no trouble from older boys and girls and being in a uniform seemed to work very well.
Come on Blackpool take a leaf out of Kent's book, and install back the park keeper on Crossland Road Park. I know that money can be a great issue in this but surely the Friends Of Crossland Road Park could come up with some great ideas in funding ourselves? I just think this would be a good idea if possible. The modern park keeper would have a mobile phone and smart uniform like Kent parkies are now using.
I will add photos of the park very soon before the refurbishment and again later when completed. This is a very exciting project for our community and I am looking forward to being more involved. In the Marton area there is limitations for the young people to access play areas and other places to keep them off our streets and I know this will be Blackpool's answer to having a great park on our own doorstep both for the young and even the elderly people in this area.

These photos are before any work is carried out on
Crossland Road Park.

The park is a good spacious size.

Here on the park many spend their time walking and training their dogs. It is a lovely walk around this park but badly requires more lighting. Many youths hang around this area and people feel threatened to walk around too late at night. More lighting is needed to aleviate this fear. More bins too are required for dog excretion.

This football pitch could be well used for many events
for all ages, without losing the interest for sport.

Amazing sights on Crossland Road Park.

Great even for pets and dog owners.
